Postpartum and Newborn Care in Charlotte, NC

Support During Pregnancy, Postpartum, and the Early Weeks at Home

A personal note from our founder, kaitlyn

Hello and welcome to Charlotte’s vibrant birth and parenting community! When my husband and I moved here in 2021 with our newborn, just two weeks old, I was in your shoes—eager to discover the best our city had to offer. I truly found my village here, and fell in love with all that Charlotte has to offer young families. I’m confident you will too.

At Queen City Doulas, we support families throughout Charlotte and the surrounding areas with personalized pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and newborn care.

Whether you’re preparing for your first baby or are already adjusting to life with a growing family, we’re here to help. Our team of vetted, experienced doulas provides practical support, trusted guidance, and compassionate care during one of life’s major transitions.

Charlotte isn’t just a great place to raise a family—it’s a community rich with resources that cater to every stage from pregnancy to early parenting. Below, I’ve shared more about our services here in Charlotte, and some of my personal favorite local resources.

As you explore and settle in, I hope you find your own village here. And remember, if there’s something you need and can’t find it, just drop me an email. I’d love to help steer you in the right direction!

Charlotte is a fantastic place to start your new family!

As one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, there are a lot of young professionals starting their families here in Charlotte, often without nearby relatives to lean on. As the founders of Queen City Doulas, we started our family here too. The city has a strong "new parent" ecosystem: mom groups, pediatric practices, lactation consultants, and postpartum resources. Part of our job here at Queen City Doulas is helping you tap into that ecosystem faster than you could on your own.

Many families we support work in Charlotte's banking and finance industry, where parental leave policies tend to be more generous than the national norm. This allows more room to plan thoughtful, well-supported postpartum care instead of rushing back to work.

And Charlotte itself is built for new-parent life. Clients living in neighborhoods like Dilworth, Myers Park, South End, Plaza Midwood, and NoDa enjoy being right on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway and the broader greenway network that threads much of the city together. They're stroller-friendly, dog-friendly, and full of other families doing the exact same stroller loop you are, perfect for those early, sleep-deprived weeks.

HOW WE HELP CHARLOTTE FAMILIES:

From first-time parents to growing families, QCD supports Charlotte families through every stage of pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. Whether you need hands-on help or simply the reassurance of having an experienced professional by your side, we’re here to meet you where you are.

When you’re bringing home a new baby, it’s really exciting, but at the same time, it can also feel quite overwhelming. Between recovering from birth, adjusting to a new routine, and running on very little sleep, it’s totally normal to wonder if you’re doing everything “right.”

Many local families have told us that having one of our trusted doulas by their side helped them feel more rested, more confident, and less overwhelmed during pregnancy, birth, and those early weeks of postpartum.

Whether you’re preparing for your first baby or are already adjusting to life with your growing family, we’re here to help. Our team of vetted, experienced doulas provides practical support, trusted guidance, and compassionate care during one of life’s major transitions.

Newborn Care Classes

Our newborn care classes are made to help parents feel more confident before baby arrives. During the classes, we cover topics like breastfeeding, soothing, diapering, sleep, and what you may expect during those first weeks at home.

Let’s Start with a Conversation

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you reach out.

You can also contact us directly with your questions. We’re always happy to help families understand what support might feel most helpful during this season.
